Keepin' it Clean

We are a baseball family...to the core.
Blake has played year round baseball since he was 9 and now he a freshman in High School.

(He just turned 15 a couple of days ago.)

Jordan is almost 11.
They are growing up way too fast!

So, over the years we've perfected (said very loosely) the art of getting the white pants that our coaches almost always picked for us CLEAN. When they were little it was easy to buy 2 pair.  As they get older into the MAN SIZE these pants are almost $60/pair...soooo....we wash on Sat. night and they are all clean on Sunday for what will hopefully be a full day of game play.

I thought I would share my tips for those just starting out! Enjoy this time in your son's baseball life........it goes FAST!!!

Before

Use any DISHWASHER fluid like Cascade or anything off brand. (lemon is my favorite)
Use a scrubber of your choice. i.e. kitchen sink brush or toothbrush to gently scrub the liquid into the stains

SOAK FOR 20 MIN. IN HOT WATER

SOAK AND WASH on HOT water

I use Oxi Clean in the wash with the pants

AFTER
ALL CLEAN!
PICTURE READY!

The No snow snowday

So today was kind of a weird day....felt like we stole a holiday.
It was supposed to be snowy and icy.  David was off of work (his regularly scheduled Friday off) and the kids were out of school because of the weather...so we all stayed up late and we all slept in late...LOVED IT!
All day though, it felt like we needed to stay home and hide the fact that we were all home because it didn't SNOW! It was cold and it was icy this morning but we were still asleep!  :) We did get a *few* flurries late this afternoon, but that's it...oh well. Maybe next week...

I did get out tonight to shoot an event for VIP.  It was a group of young performers showing their talents off. MAN...these people were talented! I was very impressed. Musicians and singers alike blew me away. I was glad I went and braved the cold. Downtown Beaumont is usually buzzing with activity at night...and it was a ghost town, save the majestic Jefferson Theater.

Headed to bed. Have a LOT to do tomorrow. Starting with Jordan's last basketball game of the season. Will we win 3rd for the 3rd year in a row or will we actually move on up to 2nd?? We'll just have to see.  Then, I have a wedding to go to of some lifelong friends of mine. That is going to be something special.  I have a couple of things in between those two things and then after as well....so it's going to be cold and busy!

Such a slacker

Ok, so I know that I am a slacker when it comes to my blog. I noticed that since 2008, I've never made it past 3 entries the whole year! Omgoodness. I guess because I am updating the website or keeping up with Facebook....I don't know.
I had a few going and I just now deleted them all and am only going to update this one.
Watch here for upcoming specials, sneak peeks, changes, etc.
I promise I will try to do better!

Right now I am wanting to build up my newborn portfolio. I need 2 more people to sign up (In the Golden Triangle area) for FREE in home Newborn session. I will come to your home, take the shots needed and give you a CD with LOW RES edited photos for emailing, sharing via FB, myspace, etc.  However, High Res. prints must be purchased through me.

I only have TWO spots left!!
Tell your friends that are pregnant that I need 2 more February babies!

They must be born in February and they must be 3-10 DAYS OLD.

Goin' to the Chapel....

This is my newest cover for VIP of Southeast Texas magazine.
We shot this on the top floor of Hotel Beaumont in Beaumont, TX.
We had so much fun! It was a long day, but so worth it.. The models
were gorgeous and the pictures turned out so well!

Instead of invites...they created keepsakes...

A client contacted me to create their daughter's 2 yr. party invite.
I had a lot of fun creating it.

They decided on this one.
They decided to leave party info off
since the family already knew when and where the
party was. They are handing them out as
keepsakes.  Cute idea...

Trainer dude

This is a guy I had to shoot for VIP Magazine.  He's a personal trainer and has his own gym in Beaumont.

Need to catch up with my blog

Time sure does fly!
I have been so busy this summer with my sons baseball team, I haven't really had time to do any blogging.
It's a New Year's resolution to be better about it.
So, here goes.
Here is a random collection of some projects I have done since July.   :)

Amber and Jason's engagement pictures. That was fun! They are a gorgeous couple and she is one of my dearest friends.

Here is the wedding invitation I created for them.

Then their wedding....it was my first wedding to shoot. I was honored that they put their trust in me to capture their special day.

This is one of my favorite shots from the day
